Systems Thinking / Spring 2016
This was a three part project. I chose to take an enormous topic - The Role of the Eco-Lodge in Post-Conflict Areas - and study it from the macro view all the way down to the micro. The last portion focuses entirely on the strategy behind a community-based learning center called "Thrive School" that would be sponsored and work in tandem with the eco-lodge.

This is a series of diagrams created for the project. I incorporated design principles like chunking, iconic representation and color to help make sense of the complex systems.
This was a project for Systems Thinking Spring 2016. I had to choose and relate a natural process (my choice) to the design process and describe them as system boundaries. I chose the function of stored kinetic energy in a kangaroo's hind leg to describe design flow.
I've inlcuded the slide presentaiton aI was asked to be one of the guest speakers for the 2017 International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) conference in San Diego, CA. I spoke on the value of visual clarity, whole systems thinking and the life's principles framework as important keys that unlock innovation and I used my graduate thesis as a case study.
This was also a first attempt at practicing the ideas of Garr Reynolds in his book, Presentation Zen. I've included the slide presentation and my corresponding notes.
